This series of plants; Thistle, Borage and Stachys, is made with tiny floating stitches and associated with the growing awareness of the environment and the need for preservation - the story of the work done underground, the roots and the tubers, highlighting the beauty and diversity in the undergrowth. It has a dramatic, curious quality and represents nature in a rough and vulnerable manner.
The embroideries are pinned away from the wall, so it creates a beautiful moving shadow.
