Carola van Dyke is a Textile Artist based on the south coast of the United Kingdom. She is inspired by close observation and appreciation of the natural world and replicates that beauty with works of thread, both in bloom and decayed, combining textures, mismatches, colours, layers and light. She is fascinated by 17th century Dutch vanitas paintings, and their exuberance and melodrama are important in her work.
Current exhibitions are in the Flower Art Museum, Aalsmeer, the Netherlands, and the Petersfield Museum in Petersfield, UK.
Commissions include Dutch Textile Museum, Bergdorf Goodman, as well as private buyers. She is currently best known for her flamboyant textile taxidermy, especially the collaborations with Liberty London and Joseph Abboudd .
